How to update macOS to Sequoia 15.3.1
As part of our ongoing effort to keep systems secure and up-to-date, IT will remotely update your macOS to the latest version. To ensure a smooth update process, please follow these steps:
1. Save your work: Save any open documents or projects before the update starts.
2. Check OneDrive: Ensure you're signed in and OneDrive is active.
3. Verify disk space: Ensure you have at least 25GB of available storage space.
4. Plug in your Mac: Connect your Mac directly to a power source to avoid interruptions.
5. Enter your password: When prompted, enter your password to allow the update process to proceed.
Deferral options:
You are given the option to defer the software update until a later date. The options available are:
- 3 days
- 1 day
- 4 hours
If you don't choose a deferral period in the given time it will defer to the latest possible time automatically.
What to Expect:
- The update will install in the background and may reboot several times. The whole process could take up to 30-45 minutes to complete.
- Your Mac will reboot automatically once the update is fully downloaded and ready to install.
- If your Mac doesn't power back on, unplug the dock and accessories and use the provided charger.
IMPORTANT: After the Update:
- On your first login, you'll see a popup requesting to bypass the system's private window picker. This is for our remote assistance software.
- Please click Allow to give proper permissions to the ConnectWise Control application and complete the update process.
